Dreamy The Preserve at Canyon Lake Wedding | Elicia and Ross

The Preserve at Canyon Lake Wedding Ceremony Chapel

Elicia and Ross’s The Preserve at Canyon Lake Wedding was a dream.

The day began with mimosas, light sandwiches  and fruit in the bridal suite while the bride and her girls  got pampered with hair and makeup services by Lola Beauty ATX. Later on the guys arrived and settled in the groom’s suite. The groom and his fellas were much fun and showed their excitement for the day the minute they walked in. With cold beers and great music in the background they got dressed and helped the groom look his best.

Meanwhile, Elicia was getting into her dress with her mom’s help. Once she was dressed and had her sparkly sneakers on, she shared a sweet and intimate first-look  with her bridesmaids.  Hugs, happy-tears and prayers flooded the room.

As a wedding planner, I love that The Preserve at Canyon Lake has a big bridal suite with lots of space for the girls to put their things, a designated makeup and hair area, and a lounge set for staying comfortable and even for pictures. As for the Groom’s suite, its perfect size for them with their private bathroom, and close to the doors that lead outside where they can play corn hole and keep entertained.

Elicia and Ross opted for a First Touch moment right by the ceremony chapel doors. Personally, it is one of my favorite moments and I definitely wish I had done it when I got married. Both, bride and groom were so sweet and were able to share this intimate moment with just each other and the photographer. A first Touch is when the couple are able to hold hands or share a physical moment without seeing each other. Doors and  corner walls  are sometimes used as props to help the couple avoid seeing each other, especially if they want their first look to be as they walk down the aisle.

The Preserve at Canyon Lake Wedding Ceremony

The chapel was adorned with the venue’s signature wooden cross, and two floral pillars designed and assembled by Sip and Stems florist. The upstairs balcony that views over the chapel creates the best images of the ceremony. Once ceremony time approached, the wedding party lined up by the chapel and waited for processional music to begin. Every seat in the chapel was filled with their closest family and friends. As “Perfect’ by Ed Sheeran began, between the smiles and tears, giggles  were heard by guests as they saw Brookshire, their golden retriever walk down the aisle with one of the groomsman. Lastly, the flower girl walked out very determined to be the cutest flower girl ever and threw petals left and right. Then Elicia, escorted by her parents, gracefully walked down the aisle locking eyes with her soon to be husband. The ceremony was officiated by a family friend which personalized the ceremony to Elicia and Ross. Then our couple exchanged their written vows and there was not one dry eye in the room. They shared their love story and all the hiccups they endured to get to the altar. The ceremony was short but definitely sweet.

The Preserve at Canyon Lake Wedding Reception

As we directed guests to cocktail hour out to the courtyard, the newlyweds, their wedding party and their families were taken by Simply Breeze and Summer Bell Studios for pictures by the waterfront. Their signature drink, margaritas on the rocks, was a hit during that warm spring afternoon. Minutes later, the  Mariachis of Melodias  De Mexico began to play cheerful and fun music to the guests.

An hour later we again directed the guests to find their seats and prepare for our introductions. The ladies walked out first to  “Where them girls” by David Guetta from the hallway, followed by the fellas with “Way 2 sexy” by Drake waving props around. Then our couple did their Grand Entrance through the Main staircase, followed by their first dance. Parietal dances proceeded and then dinner was served. When dinner was almost over, toasts by the maid of honor and the best man were given and they were cheerful and filled with humor.

By the time toasts were over, the sun was gone but the vibe was on and our DJ opened the dancefloor for the rest of the night. The dance floor was filled with feet the entire evening, especially when their country favorites came on.  We then snuck the couple away to cut the cake, share a slice, and then back to the dance floor.

The evening ended with a marvelous sparklers exit outside on the driveway. While my team and I escorted the guests and gave them instructions for the exit,  Elicia and Ross shared one last private dance to take in the entire day and everything that transpired. Then they exited the building from the ceremony chapel doors and walked down the driveway as their family and friends cheered and illuminated them with whimsical sparkles. They had one last kiss and hoped in their getaway car and drove off to start a new chapter together. A perfect night.
